At the Pain, Spine, and Sports Institute, we will perform an in-depth consultation to determine what form of treatment will be best for you. In cases where the condition or injury is found to be of mild to moderate level in nature, PRP therapy has been found to be quite effective in providing relief and helping our patients get back to leading an active lifestyle. You may not be an ideal candidate for PRP treatment if your pain or injury is very severe or advanced in nature.
Platelet-rich plasma has often been used on those affected by mild to moderate osteoarthritis, tendinitis and tendinosis in the foot, ankle, knee, elbow and hip, and joint pain. Treatment sessions can vary from patient to patient, but will generally take about one to two hours. Once your treatment session is over, the body’s natural healing process will begin and it may take several weeks to experience optimal results. Dr. Rehan Ali will determine what areas of the body need treatment but common areas may include muscles, tendons, nerves, ligaments, and joints.
